Tashkent to optimize city and suburb bus routes

President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On measures on further developing and improving efficiency of the activities of Tashkent subway” in October 2016.

According to the Uzbek Finance Ministry, the Uzbek President entrusted the Tashkent city administration to realize measures on increasing profitability of passenger transportation by Tashkent metropoliteni (Tashkent Subway).

In particular, the administration will optimize existing city and suburb bus routes to attract passengers to suburbs.

It is also planned to adopt measures to exclude duplication of bus routes with the subway lines.

Uzbek President entrusted administration of Tashkent to change length and scheme of movement of buses, which transport passengers to subway stations.

Administration also received order to construct bus stations near subway stations.
