Tashkent to introduce a new system of protection of public order
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution "On introduction of a qualitatively new system for protection of public order, prevention of crime and fight against crime in the city of Tashkent."

The head of Uzbekistan has approved new priority directions of activity of law enforcement structures of Tashkent:

  • introduction of close interaction of all state bodies, self-governing bodies of citizens and other institutions of civil society on the basis of unity of action as a pledge of security for a prosperous capital;
  • early detection and elimination of causes and conditions of committing offenses of a religious extremist nature in the context of each makhalla on the basis of the idea of “Education against ignorance”, first and foremost, correction of persons who came under the influence of an ideology of extremist persuasion;
  • provision by the prosecution bodies on a daily basis of practical assistance to development of small business and private entrepreneurship, as well as their immediate action on identified violations of legislation, the removal of artificial barriers and barriers;
  • improvement of the structure of the Tashkent internal affairs bodies with the aim of creating an effective system for managing and coordinating the activities of forces and assets directly in the places closest to the population;
  • raising the intellectual and professional level of the personnel of the Tashkent internal affairs bodies, clear delineation of tasks between the sectoral services in order to exclude their congestion by participating in additional activities and activities;
  • reorientation of law enforcement agencies in Tashkent to the wide use of capabilities of hardware and software complex "Safe City", primarily in order to ensure coordinated interaction and prompt response to crimes and their disclosure.

On the basis of district departments of internal affairs of Tashkent, departments for coordinating activities of law enforcement bodies are being established.

In accordance with the resolution, the city departments of internal affairs of Tashkent are transformed into departments of internal affairs. The Departments of Internal Affairs will protect public order, prevent crime and fight crime in the territories of the sectors.

According to the resolution, the activities of all Tashkent internal affairs bodies, including those given to the forces and resources, will be coordinated by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan - the head of the Main Department of Internal Affairs (GUVD).

The head of Uzbekistan introduced the post of deputy head of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate for Youth and advisers to the heads of coordination departments.

Head of the GUVD every day conducts an open dialogue with the public on the activities of the internal affairs bodies and each month submits report on ongoing work to the Uzbek President.

Inspectors for the prevention of internal affairs in Tashkent are now part of the kengashes of the citizens of the assigned territory.

President was instructed to equip step-by-step employees of internal affairs departments, first of all inspectors for prevention and operatives, with mobile phones (tablets) with establishment of targeted software and admission to databases of electronic information systems of internal affairs bodies.

They will also receive electroshock devices as an alternative to firearms.
