Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11-12 May 2022, the People’s Diplomacy Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will be held in Tashkent under the motto "People’s diplomacy - mutual understanding for the sake of development".

The event will be held at the initiative of the Uzbek chairmanship in the SCO. 

The Forum is expected to be attended by more than 120 participants representing the parliaments of the SCO countries, international organizations, NGOs, as well as scientific and analytical centers. 

Welcoming addresses to the Forum participants will be delivered by Chairperson of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva, Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, Chairperson of the Chinese SCO Committee for Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation Shen Yueyue and acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov. 

During two plenary sessions - "The Role of Public Diplomacy in International Cooperation" and "People’s Diplomacy - an Important Element of Modern Interstate Communication: the Experience of the SCO Member States" - the participants will discuss ways to effectively use the tools of public diplomacy in order to strengthen the multifaceted ties between the countries of the "SCO family" ".

As a result of the forum, it is planned to adopt the Tashkent communiqué of the SCO people’s diplomacy.
