Tashkent Steps Up Inspections Against Fare Evasion
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Authorities in the capital have intensified inspections aimed at identifying passengers traveling on buses without valid tickets.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Transport, controllers from the Department for Oversight of Transport Service Quality issued 4,781 administrative reports on 16 March alone.
Since the beginning of 2026, the total number of recorded fare evasion cases has reached 26,564.
Passengers violating the established rules face administrative liability under Article 144 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Ministry of Transport noted that regular inspections are intended to strengthen discipline in public transport and improve the overall quality of passenger services.
