Tashkent Steps Up Inspections Against Fare Dodgers on Public Transport
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tashkent is intensifying inspections targeting fare evasion on public transport, the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan reported.
Over the first 11 months of this year, more than 19,500 cases of unpaid fares were recorded, underscoring the need for systematic oversight and improved passenger discipline.
To ensure timely fare payment, the Transport Supervision Inspectorate, together with staff from the State Monitoring and Control Agency for Passenger Transportation, is conducting reinforced inspection campaigns.
Newly introduced powers allow inspectors to issue penalty citations directly on the spot, enabling swift responses to violations and ensuring compliance with current legislation.
