Tashkent region plans to implement projects for US$2.2bn

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent region of Uzbekistan is planning to implement 302 investment projects for total sum of US$2.2 billion in 2013-2015.

UzA reported that the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov approved a programme on developing industrial potential of Tashkent region in 2013-2015 with his resolution.

The programme focuses on complex and effective use of production of potential and resources, ensure sustainable growth of industry, goods production, competitive both in internal and external products.

It is planned to increased production in Kuyichirchiq, Urtachirchiq, Yuqorichirchiq, Boka, Bekabad, Pskent and Akkurgan districts with low level of industrial development, ensure full use of existing capacities.

Within the programme, it is planned to implement 302 investment projects for US$2.2 billion. Over 11,000 new jobs will be created in the result. The volume of total investments will make up US$605 million.
