Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The visit of a delegation led by the khokim of Tashkent region Zoir Mirzaev to South Korea has ended, Dunyo news agency reported. This visit was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul together with the Korean-Uzbek Business Association.
During the visit, meetings and negotiations were held with the Governor of Gyeonggi-do Province Kim Dong Yong, the Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province Lee Cheol U, the Head of the Secretariat of the Republic of Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum Lee Chong Guk, and the President of the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute Pak Won Seok, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association Kim Chang Keon, Chairman of Youngone Corporation Sung Kee-hak, Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Engineering Lim Gang Sop, Chairman of Hanshin Engineering & Construction Choi Yong Son, President of the company K-TDC Group" Choi In Chang, Chairman of the Korea Fire Safety Association Park Chung Won, as well as with the heads of about 15 leading companies in South Korea.
An Agreement on the expansion of human exchange was signed with the province of Gyeongsangbuk-do, which envisages the establishment of active and mutually beneficial cooperation between the universities of the two regions, as well as the expansion of the exchange of young personnel.
A Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of research and development for a small modular reactor was signed with the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute and Hyundai Engineering.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed with a consortium of South Korean companies led by Hanshin Engineering & Construction on the implementation of a project to build a medical smart city in Tashkent region in accordance with international standards. This complex will include the construction of hospitals of various profiles, preschool educational institutions, universities, shopping and entertainment facilities on 400 hectares.
With the K-TDC Group and the Korea Fire Safety Association, it is planned to conduct a technical and commercial exchange in the field of fire protection and the security industry, as well as the transfer of special machinery and equipment to fight fires to Tashkent region free of charge.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Korean-Uzbek Business Association and the K-TDC Group company on the implementation of the construction project in Tashkent region of the modern Nurafshon-Korea New City on 150 hectares. This project is scheduled to be completed by 2026.
The negotiations and signed documents showed the high interest of the regions, organizations and companies of South Korea in establishing long-term cooperation with the Tashkent region. Specific measures have been agreed with the South Korean partners for the practical implementation of all the agreements reached.
The visit of the delegation of the Tashkent region to South Korea ended successfully.
