Tashkent Region Boosts Meat Export Cooperation with Pakistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Hokim of Tashkent Region, Zoir Mirzaev, held talks with representatives of Pakistan’s Zenith Associates, a leading meat producer and exporter, to explore cooperation in meat production and export.

Zenith Associates specializes in high-quality meat products that meet international sanitary and halal standards, supplying major retail chains and food industry enterprises on a B2B basis.

Discussions focused on establishing a modern meat processing and packaging facility in Tashkent Region. The Uzbek side highlighted the region’s livestock potential, investment climate, and incentives for foreign investors. Tashkent Region has over 150,000 hectares of fodder land, including 50,000 hectares of irrigated areas, producing around 200–230,000 tons of meat annually and importing about 10,000 head of breeding livestock.

Plans were discussed to build modern slaughterhouses and specialized meat-processing complexes compliant with international and halal standards. Zenith Associates expressed strong interest and readiness to cooperate. The visiting delegation also studied livestock breeding, storage, processing, and packaging technologies in the region.

Later, Mirzaev met with Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Punjab, Iftikhar Ali Sahu, and Ahmad Aziz Tarar, head of the Livestock and Dairy Department. They discussed expanding mutually beneficial collaboration in agriculture, including knowledge exchange, advanced technologies, and joint investment projects.

The talks included livestock development, strengthening fodder resources, meat and dairy processing, increasing exports, scientific development of the sector, improved breeding, and expansion of processing infrastructure. Both sides confirmed their intention to continue implementing joint projects aimed at developing the agricultural sector and boosting export potential between the regions.
