Tashkent Receives An-124 “Ruslan” Carrying Rotor for Sirdarya TPP
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 8 December, Tashkent International Airport received the rare cargo aircraft An-124-100M “Ruslan” (UR-82027) operated by the Ukrainian cargo airline Antonov Airlines, Uzbekistan Airports reported.
The aircraft delivered a critical component of a gas turbine — a rotor for the ACWA Power Sirdarya combined-cycle power plant, one of Uzbekistan’s key energy projects. Unloading and handling operations were conducted with heightened coordination and attention.
The An-124 “Ruslan” remains a global leader in transporting oversized and ultra-heavy cargo. It can carry 120–150 tons, has a cargo volume of 1,050 m³, and features a unique design with both nose and tail doors, allowing simultaneous loading from both ends.
