Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A draft decision of the khokim of Tashkent city “On measures to establish regulated prices for drinking water supply and sewerage services in Tashkent” was published for discussion.

The project was developed in accordance with the Presidential Decree from 25 September 2020 “On measures to further improve the drinking water supply and sewerage system, as well as increase the efficiency of investment projects in this area.”

The draft document noted that in order to reduce accounts payable, implement projects, timely repay external loans, timely eliminate faults in networks and facilities, it is necessary to increase the current tariffs of Toshkent Shakar Suv Taminoti.

It is proposed to increase the rates for 1 cubic meter of drinking water in the following amounts:

- for the population, budgetary organizations and wholesale consumers: from 310 to 500 soums (61.2%) excluding VAT;

- for commercial organizations: from 730 soums to 1,500 soums (105.4%);

Sewerage service tariffs:

- for the population, budgetary organizations and wholesale consumers: from 250 to 350 soums (40%);

- for commercial organizations: from 460 soums to 820 soums (78.2%).
