Tashkent Metro’s Above-Ground Circle Line to Resume Operations on 1 November

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The above-ground circle line of the Tashkent Metro will reopen to passengers on 1 November, the press service of Tashkent Metro reported.

Train service on the 14-station section from “Technopark” to “Kipchak” had been temporarily suspended for scheduled preventive maintenance and repair work. During extensive inspections, specialists leveled the tracks, replaced worn sleepers, examined the drainage system, and checked the condition of the ballast.

According to the metro authorities, all identified issues have been resolved, and the line is being prepared to resume operations following the completion of testing. Currently, trains are running in test mode without passengers.

The reopening was originally scheduled for mid-October (on 18 October), but the date was postponed to ensure full readiness of the infrastructure and to fine-tune systems designed to double train speeds and reduce intervals between trains.

Following the completion of all tests, the line will reopen for regular passenger service starting from 1 November.
