Tashkent Metro to reopen its doors to passengers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In accordance with the decision of the Republican Special Commission to prepare a program of measures to prevent the emergence and spread of coronavirus infection on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, starting from 15 August 2020, the Tashkent Metro will re-open its doors to passengers.

From 06:00, the "Uzbekistan", "Chilanzar" and "Yunusabad" lines will start working on a regular basis.

Metro cars will be thoroughly disinfected regularly before each departure and after each arrival at the final station.

As part of the sanitary requirements, passengers are required to wear a medical mask while in the metro and throughout the entire route, at metro stations and in train carriages. Passengers without a medical mask will not be allowed on the subway. It is imperative to maintain a social distance near metro ticket offices and on the platform of stations.

It should be noted that the recently built stations of the Tashkent metro of the Yunusabad line, as well as the section of the circular metro line "Dustlik - Kuylyuk" will not work for passengers in the operational mode yet.

At the same time, we remind you that the work of the metro is organized taking into account the observance of the currently required rules and regulations. In particular, in accordance with sanitary requirements, while in the metro and along the entire route, passengers must:

- Wear a medical mask during the entire time that the passenger is in the lobby, at stations and in train cars. Passengers without a medical mask will not be allowed on the subway;

- Observe social distance in lobbies, near ticket offices, at stations, stairs, escalators, as well as in subway cars. To comply with these rules, special guide markings and warning stickers are placed everywhere in the metro;

- In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, disinfection tunnels, temperature measuring devices, as well as dispensers with an antiseptic are installed at the entrance to the metro. In this regard, the temperature of all passengers will be measured in real time (passengers with a temperature of 37 degrees and higher are not allowed to make the trip. Hand antiseptic is obligatory for all passengers
