Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent metro will receive 14 new rolling stock, manufactured by Russia’s Metrovagonmash.

According to the results of studies of the passenger traffic used by the metro, the number of passengers has now increased by 150,000-200,000 compared to the previous period of 2021. And the number of daily passengers is 450,000-480,000. Based on the above figures, it is expected that from September 2022, the number of passengers using metro services will exceed 500,000 people.

In order to provide better and more comfortable service to passengers of the State Unitary Enterprise "Toshkent metropoliteni", a number of works are planned, including:

- the interval of train traffic at rush hour (from 07:30 to 09:30) in the direction of "Chilanzar" will be 2.5-3 minutes, in the direction of "Uzbekistan" -3.5-4 minutes, and in the direction of "Yunusabad" - 5-6 minutes;

- in order to prevent traffic jams on the platform and ensure safety at stops with a large passenger flow, employees of the internal affairs bodies serving in the metro will monitor the order of entry of passengers to the stop.

In particular, in order to further reduce the intervals in the future, it is planned to purchase 14 new rolling stock of a modern type manufactured by JSC Metrovagonmash of the Russian Federation.
