Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 April, Khokim of Tashkent Jakhongir Artikkhojayev received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan Kim Hee Sang.

Jakhongir Artikkhojaev congratulated the guest on his appointment, noting his extensive experience in the diplomatic field, and expressed hope that his activities in Uzbekistan would have a fruitful impact on cooperation between our countries.

Ambassador Kim Hee Sang, thanking for the kind words, said: having started work in Uzbekistan in March of this year, he managed to get acquainted with the capital, and was pleasantly surprised by the pace of improvement and development of the city. The period of the pandemic slowed down cooperation between our countries a little, the ambassador noted, and expressed hope for the intensification of relations. According to the guest, the government and entrepreneurs of South Korea are ready to make the maximum contribution to the development of the economy of Uzbekistan through investment and grant projects of mutual interest.

The parties also discussed preparations for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.

The khokim of the capital thanked the guest for the visit and assured that he would provide all possible assistance in the implementation of projects within the framework of mutually beneficial cooperation between Tashkent and the cities of South Korea.
