Tashkent Mayor Explores Infrastructure Cooperation with Malaysia’s AWC Berhad
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Mayor of Tashkent Shavkat Umurzakov held talks with Muhammad Ikhsan Anwar Bin, Development Director of Malaysian company AWC Berhad, to discuss potential collaboration on infrastructure projects.
During the meeting, the Mayor highlighted Tashkent’s growing interest in expanding international partnerships and presented a number of current and upcoming projects in the areas of water supply, public utilities, and urban development.
The AWC Berhad representative expressed preliminary interest in several areas of cooperation.
Key topics included the modernization of Tashkent’s transport infrastructure, the development of solid waste collection and recycling systems, and the establishment of a modern logistics hub.
Additional proposals under discussion included the construction of tourism facilities, the introduction of luxury retail brands, and the renovation of the capital’s railway stations.
Both parties concluded the meeting by affirming their readiness to continue dialogue and jointly explore concrete cooperation formats for the implementation of mutually beneficial projects.
