Tashkent makes the largest contribution to the formation of Uzbekistan’s GDP

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Outstripping GRP growth rates in January-September 2021 were noted in Tashkent city (14.1%), Syrdarya (11.6%), Tashkent (9.6%) and Khorezm (8.5%) regions. Low growth rates of GRP, in comparison with the republican level (6.9%), were observed in Andijan (3.1%), Jizzakh (6.6%) and Bukhara (6.8%) regions.

In January-September 2021, the city of Tashkent made the largest contribution to the formation of the republic’s GDP with a specific weight of 16.9%. Tashkent and Navoi regions occupy the next places with indicators of 11.0% and 8.1%, respectively. Syrdarya (2.1%) and Jizzakh (3.1%) regions have the smallest share in the formation of the republic’s GDP.

According to the results of January-September 2021, the largest shares of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in the sectoral structure of GRP are owned by Jizzakh (53.7%) and Surkhandarya (48.6%) regions, industry – Navoi (69.0%) and Tashkent (47.8%) regions, construction – Tashkent city (10.0%) and Syrdarya region (9.1%), services – Tashkent city (56.1%) and Namangan region (38.0%).

According to the results for January-September 2021, the share of small entrepreneurship (business) in the republic’s GDP was 55.7%. In terms of regions, its largest share was observed in Jizzakh (81.7% of the total gross value added created in the region), Surkhandarya (78.1%) and Bukhara (76.8%) regions. The smallest share of small entrepreneurship (business) is noted in Navoi (27.3%) and Tashkent (47.8%) regions.

According to preliminary data, the GRP of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in January-September 2021 increased by 7.4% and amounted to 18.12 trillion soums. GRP growth is due to positive growth rates in the main sectors of the region’s economy, such as agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 5.8% (share in the GRP structure - 26.0%), industry - 5.8% (27.1%), construction - 9.8% (9.0%) and the service sector - 8.9% (37.9%). GRP per capita increased by 6.0% and amounted to 9.38 million soums.

The GRP of Andijan region in current prices amounted to 30.38 trillion soums and, compared to January-September 2020, increased in real terms by 3.1%. Positive growth rates were noted in the following main sectors: in the sector of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.3% (share in the GRP structure - 42.9%), construction - 11.0% (6.1%) and the service sector - 7.8% (31.2%). In the industry, there was a decrease in volume in comparable prices, which amounted to 95.0% against the level of January-September 2020 (the share of this industry in the GRP structure is 19.8%). GRP per capita amounted to 9.45 million soums and increased by 1.1% compared to January-September 2020.

The GRP of Bukhara region amounted to 27.42 trillion soums and increased by 6.8%. The growth rates of agriculture, forestry and fisheries amounted to 5.4% (share in the GRP structure - 46.4%), construction - 8.9% (8.5%) and services - 12.3% (29.5%). In the industry, there was a decrease in volume in comparable prices, which amounted to 99.7% compared to January-September 2020 (the share of this industry in the GRP structure is 15.6%). The volume of GRP per capita increased by 5.4% and amounted to 14 million soums.

The increase in the GRP of Jizzakh region amounted to 6.6% and reached 15.91 trillion soums. In the sectoral structure of GRP, the growth rates were: in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 4.0% (share in the structure of GRP - 53.7%), industry - 13.8% (11.7%), construction - 5.6 % (6.0%) and the service sector - 9.1% (28.6%). The volume of GRP per capita increased by 4.4% and amounted to 11.18 million soums.

The GRP of Kashkadarya region amounted to 31.7 trillion soums and, compared to January-September 2020, increased by 8.4%. Positive growth rates were recorded in the following main sectors: in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.1% (share in the GRP structure - 40.9%), industry - 19.0% (18.3%), construction –20.2% (6.6%) and the service sector - 7.6% (34.2%). GRP per capita increased by 6.4% and amounted to 9.43 million soums.

The GRP of Navoi region reached 41.99 trillion soums and an increase of 7.0%. The growth of the GRP is due to the positive growth rates in the main sectors of the region’s economy. In agriculture, forestry and fisheries, growth rates reached 4.9% (share in the GRP structure - 15.3%), industry - 6.8% (69.0%), construction - 17.2% (3.8%) and the service sector - 7.6% (11.9%). GRP per capita increased by 5.1% and amounted to 41.12 million soums.

The GRP of Namangan region amounted to 24.14 trillion soums, which is 8.0% higher than the data for January-September 2020. GRP growth rates are due to positive growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 4.1% (share in the GRP structure - 40.4%), industry - 14.7% (14.2%), construction - 9.4% (7.4%) and the service sector - 9.6% (38.0%). GRP per capita increased by 5.8% and amounted to 8.35 million soums.

The GRP of Samarkand region amounted to 37.78 trillion soums and, compared to the corresponding period of 2020, increased by 7.1%. In this region, positive growth rates were noted in the sectors of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 2.4% (share in the GRP structure - 44.4%), industry - 9.3% (14.2%), construction - 16.0 % (6.1%) and the service sector - 10.6% (35.3%). GRP per capita increased by 5.1% and amounted to 9.5 million soums.

In Surkhandarya region, GRP grew by 7.4% and amounted to 21 434.8 billion soums. Growth factors of GRP were the growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 106.1% (share in the GRP structure - 48.6%), industry - 107.5% (7.2%), construction - 109.1% ( 8.5%) and the service sector - 108.6% (35.7%). GRP per capita amounted to 7 928.8 thousand soums and increased by 5.2%.

The GRP of Syrdarya region amounted to 11.02 trillion soums and, compared to the corresponding period of 2020, increased by 11.6%. In this region, positive growth rates were noted in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 7.3% (share in the GRP structure - 39.0%), industry - 18.5% (23.6%), construction - 23.6% (9.1%) and the service sector - 8.2% (28.3%). GRP per capita increased by 9.6% and amounted to 12.71 million soums.

GRP of Tashkent region amounted to 57.23 trillion soums with an increase of 9.6%. In this region, positive growth rates were noted in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.9% (share in the GRP structure - 23.0%), industry - 10.6% (47.8%), construction - 21.3% (4.9%), service sector - 11.0% (24.3%). Compared to the corresponding period of 2020, GRP per capita in real terms increased by 11.5% and amounted to 19.67 million soums.

In Ferghana region, the volume of GRP increased by 7.4% and amounted to 33.64 trillion soums. In agriculture, forestry and fisheries, growth rates reached 4.4% (share in the GRP structure - 36.3%), industry - 6.4% (20.0%), construction - 14.1% (6.7%) and the service sector - 9.5% (37.0%). GRP per capita amounted to 8.74 million soums and increased by 5.4%.

The GRP of Khorezm region increased by 8.5% and amounted to 18.9 trillion soums. The growth of GRP is due to the growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.9% (share in the GRP structure - 46.1%), industry - 13.2% (11.4%), construction - 32.4% (7.4%), service sector - 8.9% (35.1%). GRP per capita increased by 6.9% and amounted to 9.92 million soums.

The GRP of the city of Tashkent amounted to 87.81 trillion soums and, compared to January-September 2020, increased by 14.1%. GRP growth factors were the growth rates in industry - 13.8% (share in the GRP structure - 33.9%), construction - 23.4% (10.0%) and services - 12.7% (56.1%). GRP per capita amounted to 31.25 million soums and increased by 6.1%.
