Tashkent International Airport Opens Renovated Arrival Hall and City-View Terrace

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new phase of the extensive reconstruction of Tashkent International Airport has been completed, featuring a renovated arrival hall, a new open-air terrace, and an expanded VIP departure lounge.

The arrival hall has been enlarged by extending the building’s façade forward by 2,200 square meters, bringing the total space for greeters to approximately 5,000 square meters. The spacious hall includes around 200 seats, and coffee shops, bars, ice cream stands, a retail store, and a flower shop are set to open soon.

The project also includes construction of an additional access lane. The existing lane is now reserved exclusively for tourist buses and official airport taxis, while the new lane serves private vehicles and ride-hailing services. To prevent traffic congestion, a maximum stop time of 10 minutes has been introduced, monitored by surveillance cameras integrated with the Ministry of Internal Affairs system that automatically records violations. The parking area in the arrivals sector has been expanded to 347 spaces by combining the P2 and P3 lots, while long-term parking is recommended for extended waits.

Simultaneously, a 2,200-square-meter terrace with landscaped areas, canopies, and benches has opened on the second floor of the departure hall, offering panoramic views of the terminal, control tower, and apron. The terrace is equipped with a climate-control misting system to maintain comfortable temperatures in hot weather, and several cafés are planned to open soon.

The VIP departure lounge has also been expanded: a new 300-square-meter hall has been added to the existing 1,100 square meters, increasing seating capacity and creating a more spacious and modern environment for passengers.

Director of Tashkent International Airport, Jasur Pulatov, noted that the modernization aims to enhance passenger comfort and service quality:

“Tashkent Airport is becoming more than a transportation hub; it is transforming into a modern and convenient space for all travelers. We aim for every detail — from signage to service — to meet international standards. The completion of this reconstruction will significantly increase throughput and provide comfortable conditions for both passengers and their guests.”

The airport’s reconstruction is being carried out in stages. The final stage will unite the arrival and departure halls into a single terminal complex. Upon completion, the terminal will cover over 16,000 square meters and handle up to 2,400 passengers per hour.
