Tashkent Implements Smart Parking and “Intelligent” Transport System
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The growing number of residents and vehicles in the capital has significantly increased pressure on the road network, causing traffic congestion reaching 7–8 points on the scale.
Traditional traffic management methods are no longer sufficient to meet the challenges of a modern metropolis.
Under a presidential decree, a comprehensive strategy is being implemented to reform the city’s transport system. Key measures include the introduction of managed parking, the development of a network of 2,000 electric vehicle charging stations, and the implementation of a digital city map to monitor vehicle and pedestrian movement in real time.
These initiatives aim to modernize roads, improve urban comfort, and transform Tashkent into a “smart” metropolis.
