Tashkent hosts the festival “The World Through the Eyes of the Sun!”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Festival "The world through the eyes of the sun!" brought together on one site more than 300 families from all over the country, journalists and bloggers, representatives of the Ministry of Public Education, UNICEF in Uzbekistan and other domestic and international organizations.

World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated on 21 March. The day and month symbolically reflect the nature of the pathology: March is chosen because Down syndrome is a trisomy (the third month of the year) on chromosome 21 (and therefore 21 March).

The organizers of the festival in Tashkent decided to unite parents and "sunny" children from all over the country in a single space in order to focus the attention of the general public on the possibilities of people with Down syndrome and their right to participate in society on an equal basis with others. They are not like everyone else, but each of them definitely has a huge potential that needs to be revealed and supported.

The program of the Festival includes performances by "sunny" children and Uzbek pop stars, defile of fashion models and master classes, and most importantly - the exchange of ideas, experience and knowledge. According to the participants, the event became a real holiday and at the same time an incentive for young parents in whose family a baby with Down syndrome is growing up.

Such events demonstrate the need to create an inclusive society in Uzbekistan, create conditions for the development of special children and support them in adulthood.
