Tashkent hosts seminar for customs officers

Dr. Janusz Kozakiewicz, UNDP International Consultant (Poland) on legislation in the sphere of ODS is conducting the training.

Representatives of the State Customs Committee (SCC) and the higher military customs institute under the SCC of the Republic of Uzbekistan were invited to the course.

Janusz Kozakiewicz noted that the seminar-training is aimed at training future trainers for customs bodies of Uzbekistan to spread knowledge and skills among customs officers of Uzbekistan in the sphere of ozone-depleting substances.

During three days, the participants will familiarize with important directions of monitoring and control over ODS both on national and regional/national levels, he said. He added that the training will include practical lessons.

The training was initiated within the joint project of UNDP-GEF and the State Committee for Nature Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at implementation of the National Strategy on HCFC Phase-out in Uzbekistan for final phase-out of HCFCs by 2030.
