Tashkent hosts an international conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Turkey

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 March 2022, together with the Development Strategy Center and the Department of Information and Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Turkey, an international conference was held dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Turkey.

At the event, with the participation of representatives of various ministries and departments, higher educational institutions, research centers, industry experts and leading media, the current state and prospects for Uzbek-Turkish cooperation in the political, diplomatic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed in detail.

In particular, at the beginning of the conference, the executive director of the Development Strategy Center, Eldor Tulyakov, noted that in recent years, the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkey has significantly intensified.

- Of course, the role of friendly contacts between the heads of the two states, who regularly meet at the highest level, sincere dialogues as an important factor that gives the main impetus to the development of effective cooperation is great.

In particular, in 2018 a new format of communication was created - the Uzbek-Turkish Council for Strategic Cooperation at the highest level. In 2020, during the visit of President Sh. Mirziyoyev to Ankara, the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council was held.

It should be noted that, in particular, in recent years, the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkey has significantly intensified. We see this on the example of the relations that are developing between the two state organizations at different levels, be it inter-parliamentary relations, between ministries, departments, civil society institutions, educational institutions and between our ordinary citizens.

Also, the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the eighth summit of the Turkic Council, held in Istanbul on 12 November 2021, and the decision to change the name of the Turkic Council to the "Organization of Turkic States" and to hold the first summit of this organization in Uzbekistan in 2022 are of particular importance.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Representative of Embassy of Turkey in Uzbekistan Alijan Aksoy also expressed his views.

Also, the political observer of the Turkish national TV channel Ahmet Yeshiltepe, the head of the department of the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhrom Satiboldiyev, the professor of Kirsehir University Ervan Nur Chetin, the head of the department of the International Institute of Central Asia Alisher Sobirov took part in the International Conference and expressed their views.

The speakers also noted that Uzbekistan, which has rich natural resources and human capital, deep experience of statehood and cultural heritage, demonstrates high rates of socio-economic development in recent years, is a landmark, a source of inspiration in terms of stability and prosperity in the region, and that Turkey will continue cooperation with Uzbekistan in decisive steps towards a brighter future.

It is worth noting that there is no doubt that the deepening of bilateral relations in all areas, in particular in politics, the economy, trade, transport, energy, agriculture, industry, security, culture, youth, education, the press and human relations, will greatly degree contributes to the well-being, peace and stability of not only the peoples of Uzbekistan and Turkey, but also neighboring countries.
