Tashkent Driver Resists Police After Car Accident
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A video circulating on social media shows a driver resisting law enforcement officers after a traffic accident in Tashkent. The Road Safety Service (SBDD) provided details on the incident.
The event occurred on March 30 in the Yashnabad district, where a Malibu and a Leapmotor collided, triggering a dispute between the drivers.
Authorities were forced to use special measures to subdue the individual. The man admitted his guilt, apologized, and pledged not to repeat such behavior.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 219 (resistance to an official or person performing civic duty) and paragraph “g” of Part 3 of Article 277 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code. The suspect has been detained.
According to the SBDD, the Leapmotor driver reported via emergency number 102 that the Malibu driver, lacking license plates, caused the accident and behaved aggressively.
Police arrived to document the incident and offered the Malibu driver a breathalyzer test. The intoxicated individual refused to comply and struck one of the officers.
