Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Customs officials are taking urgent measures to counter illegal drug trafficking. The next facts of illegal drug trafficking were revealed and promptly suppressed the other day by the Employees of the Customs Department in the city of Tashkent.

In particular, the employees of the Department for Combating Smuggling and Customs Audit, in cooperation with the State Security Service in Syrdarya region, stopped and inspected a Lacetti car in accordance with the established procedure.

As a result of the search carried out, a substance with a specific pungent odor wrapped in a brown plastic bundle was found in the rear of the car. The subsequent examination established that the discovered substance was a narcotic hashish with a total weight of 1 kg 973 grams.

Another operative measure was carried out in Mirabad district of the capital, as a result of which a hidden narcotic drug hashish with a total weight of 990.95 grams was found in the basement of a house of one of the residents.

Thus, as a result of timely operational actions, illegal traffic of 2 kg 963 grams of the drug hashish was prevented.

Currently, according to the revealed facts, the customs authorities are carrying out pre-investigative measures.
