The sides discussed cooperation issues in construction and architecture, transport and communication, greening of cities and landscape design, communal service, processing waste, and cleaning water.
The Uzbek delegation held a presentation of economic and investment opportunities in Tashkent city, perspectives of deepening twin-town relations in cultural-humanitarian and other directions.
Vice-chairman of Shanghai department of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Investment Wan Lie (transliterated) said that Shanghai is one of leaders of Chinese economy and trade and it will help to local companies, interested in investing into long-term projects in Uzbekistan. It was noted that Tashkent and Shanghai are ready to sign a memorandum of cooperation for 2014-2016, which will be logic continuation of deepening twin- town relations and boosting partnership. Since 1994, when two cities set twin-town relations, the sides support fruitful cooperation in all areas – trade-economic, city management and development, culture, education, sport and healthcare.
During the visit, the first stone of the monument of Alisher Navoi was laid at Shanghai University, the report said.
