Tashkent and Gomel Regions Agree on Expanding Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tashkent Region Hokim Zoir Mirzaev held a working meeting with a delegation from Gomel Region of the Republic of Belarus, led by Executive Committee Chairman Ivan Krupko, as well as with Belarus’ Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, Alexander Ogorodnikov.

Both sides noted the high level of friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus and emphasized the importance of developing cooperation at the regional level.

During the dialogue, detailed information was presented on the industrial, agricultural, investment, logistics, entrepreneurial, and export-import potential of Tashkent Region.

Particular attention was paid to expanding collaboration with Gomel Region, implementing joint projects, and strengthening trade and economic ties. Prospects for cooperation were discussed in industry, investment, agriculture, trade, innovation, education, and workforce development.

Following the meeting, a Protocol of Intent was signed, outlining long-term partnership development between the regions in economics, science, culture, tourism, sports, healthcare, and other areas.

The document also includes provisions for sharing information on key cultural and international events, supporting investment initiatives, and strengthening bilateral ties.

Zoir Mirzaev emphasized that Tashkent Region has created all necessary conditions for implementing joint initiatives and that promising proposals will receive full support.
