Tashkent accounted for 21% of Uzbekistan’s GDP in the first quarter of 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — According to preliminary estimates provided by the National Statistics Committee, from January to March 2025, the city of Tashkent made the largest contribution to the formation of the gross domestic product (GDP) of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with its share amounting to 21% of the country’s total GDP.
It is worth noting that Uzbekistan’s GDP reached US$25.77 billion at current prices, compared to US$22.2 billion for the same period in 2024.
Following the capital, the Tashkent Region and Navoi Region ranked second and third, with shares of 9.7% and 9.0%, respectively.
Among other regions, Samarkand Region (6.1%), Ferghana Region (5.6%), and Andijan Region (5.4%) also stood out.
The regional distribution of contributions to Uzbekistan’s GDP for January–March 2025 was as follows: the city of Tashkent — 21.0%; Tashkent Region — 9.7%; Navoi Region — 9.0%; Samarkand Region — 6.1%; Ferghana Region — 5.6%; Andijan Region — 5.4%; Kashkadarya Region — 4.8%; Bukhara Region — 4.4%; Namangan Region — 4.1%; Khorezm Region — 3.3%; Surkhandarya Region — 3.1%; Republic of Karakalpakstan — 2.9%; Jizzakh Region — 2.6%; Syrdarya Region — 1.7%.
