Tanzila Narbaeva: "When we talk about human rights, first of all, much attention is paid to the rights of children, youth and women"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10-11 December 2021, an international conference "Human Rights Education: International Experience and National Practice" is being held in Tashkent. The event was attended and delivered by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva.

The event, organized by the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, was attended by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights M. Bachelet, Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union M. Chungong, Director democratic institutions and human rights M. Mikkachi and representatives of other international organizations.

It was noted that the head of state approved the National Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Human Rights. One of its priorities is the issue of ensuring that Uzbekistan is included in the top 50 countries in the world in international rankings and indices in the field of human rights and freedoms. In particular, by the resolution of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Strategy for Gender Equality until 2030 was adopted.

“You all know that in our country, when we talk about human rights, first of all, much attention is paid to the rights of children, youth and women. "In this direction, close cooperation is being established with state and non-state organizations to implement all the UN recommendations," said Tanzila Narbaeva.

The international conference summed up the results of the events held in the framework of the UN Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training, as well as the UN Global Program for Human Rights Education.

Within the framework of the event, the ceremony of awarding the laureates of the badge "For the Protection of Human Rights" was also held.

In addition, the conference will present the best foreign practices, experience and innovative approaches in the field of human rights, as well as developed proposals and recommendations for further improving the education system at the international, regional and national levels.
