Tajikistan ratifies landmark border junction agreement with Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Majlisi Namoyandagon, the lower house of the Parliament of Tajikistan, has officially ratified the trilateral agreement on the junction point of the state borders of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, according to a report from the national news agency Khovar, citing the parliament’s press service.

The agreement was originally signed on 31 March in Khujand during a trilateral summit attended by President Emomali Rahmon, President Sadyr Japarov, and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The document marks the formal and legal completion of the shared border demarcation between the three neighboring Central Asian nations.

President Emomali Rahmon hailed the agreement as a historic milestone, emphasizing that the newly defined border junction symbolizes lasting friendship, good neighborliness, and constructive partnership among Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The ratification of the treaty by the Tajik parliament underscores the strong political will of the participating states to enhance regional stability, deepen mutual trust, and lay a solid foundation for future cooperation across Central Asia.
