Swiss diplomat to head the OSCE Project Coordinator Office in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 April, the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Ambassador Abat Fayzullayev held an online meeting with the Swiss diplomat Pierre von Arx, Dunyo news agency reported.

According to the Permanent Mission of Uzbekistan, the Swedish chairmanship in the OSCE has appointed Pierre von Arks as the new head of the Office of the OSCE Project Coordinator in our country. He will take up his new duties in May.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan congratulated Pierre von Arks on his appointment to a high position and expressed the hope that all his accumulated knowledge and experience will contribute to further strengthening and developing the interaction of our country with the OSCE.

In turn, Pierre von Arx highly appreciated the positive changes taking place in Uzbekistan in recent years in the socio-economic and socio-political life of the country and the dynamically developing relations between the OSCE and Uzbekistan.

He assured that, as the head of the Office of the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, he is ready to make every effort and contribute to the successful implementation of the reforms and transformations being carried out in the country on a long-term basis.

 Pierre von Arx is currently the Head of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek. Prior to that, in 2006-2016, he was an adviser and then a Deputy Permanent Representative of the Swiss Mission to the OSCE.
