Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Employees of the State Security Service (SGB) and internal affairs bodies on 3 November in Samarkand detained a group of people suspected of distributing materials calling for "jihad". This was reported by the press service of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan.
It is noted that the residents of Samarkand D. Ya. And F. M., together with eight citizens, created a virtual community, where they regularly distributed materials calling for "jihad".
They also planned to send two members of the group to Syria for "jihad". The State Security Service notes that the departure of citizens to Syria was prevented.
During the operational event, law enforcement officers seized material evidence of the illegal activities of the community. Investigative actions are underway.
