Summit of the Organization of Turkic States to be held in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10-11 November, the city of Samarkand will host a meeting of the heads of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States.

The event, which will be chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will be attended by Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

The participation of the leaders of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), the International Turkic Academy and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, as well as the secretariat of this multilateral structure is also planned.

The agenda of the summit included issues of further development of mutually beneficial and multifaceted cooperation, including in the areas of economy, trade, investment, transport, innovation, ecology, tourism and cultural and humanitarian exchange, as well as improving the activities of the Organization, which is fully consistent with the UN Sustainable Development Goals .

As a result, it is planned to adopt the Samarkand Declaration, as well as other important decisions and documents designed to expand practical cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.
