Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A Government Resolution "On measures to radically improve the activities of the Andijan State Medical Institute and its clinic" was adopted.

According to the Resolution, in order to radically improve the activities of the Andijan State Medical Institute and its clinic, from the 2021/2022 academic year, branches that are not legal entities will be created in the following areas:

- at the Republican Specialized Surgical Scientific and Practical Medical Center named after Academician V. Vakhidov - surgery;

- at the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Cardiology-Cardiac Surgery;

- at the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Neurosurgery-Neurosurgery;

- at the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Urology-Urology;

- at the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation - nephrology.

Also, new departments of transplantology, endosurgery, X-ray surgery, endourology, neurology and medical genetics, as well as an immunogenetic laboratory will be created.

According to the Resolution, from the 2022/2023 academic year, graduate students in the educational areas "General Medicine" and "Pediatrics" of all medical universities during the 1st semester (5 months) of the academic year will undergo practical training in medical institutions at their place of permanent residence, and the theoretical part of the lectures and training sessions will be carried out in a distance form.

The Institute and the clinic will introduce the "experience of Shakhrikhan region" in providing primary health care to the population, preventing diseases and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
