Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Russian government allowed foreign students from a number of countries, including Uzbekistan, to return to Russia to continue their full-time studies. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.
By order of the Government of the Russian Federation from 31 March, 2021 No. 814-r, foreign students, postgraduates, residents, students of preparatory faculties from Venezuela, Germany, Syria, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka can return to Russia to continue their studies.
The department has formed the Register of state educational organizations that are fully prepared to accept foreign students who have not yet entered the Russian Federation.
Universities ready to accept foreign students are already working with a public services portal to form student lists. This will allow them to use land-based checkpoints and facilitate their entry in case of transit through already open countries.
Before arriving in Russia, foreign students must notify the university by e-mail at least 10 days in advance of the date of crossing the border. After sending the letter, the students will receive information about the entry by e-mail.
No earlier than three calendar days before arriving in Russia, the student must do a COVID-19 test using the PCR method and, if the result is negative, receive the corresponding document in Russian or English in his country.
Within 72 hours after entering the territory of Russia, foreign students must pass a second PCR test. Before receiving the test results, they must adhere to the self-isolation regime at the place of residence. During the period of isolation, training takes place online. Foreign students are not allowed to study in full-time without a second test.
If, during the period of self-isolation, foreign students arriving in Russia develop the first symptoms of an acute respiratory illness (fever, sore throat, runny nose, cough), the student must immediately inform the university about this and call a doctor.
