Strengthening partnerships of women entrepreneurs in Central Asia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The role of women in business continues to grow, reaching a new stage in its development. Today, the economic success of companies is associated with the presence of women in leadership positions, which positively affects the management of businesses and its financial condition.

On 28-30 September 2021 under the auspices of Central Asia Women Leaders Caucus, an online Cooperation Exchange between Women Entrepreneurs of Central Asian Countries in the format of B2B meetings is taking place. The event is organized by UNDP Uzbekistan together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.

The cooperation exchange is held to facilitate the establishment of direct contacts, cooperation and business partnerships between women entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Ms. Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairperson of the Central Asia Women Leaders Caucus and Matilda Dimovska, UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan delivered welcoming speeches at the opening of the event.

B2B meetings of Central Asian businesswomen were divided into several thematic sessions such as industry, services, agriculture, arts and crafts, and innovative technologies.

During the cooperation exchange women entrepreneurs of the region will establish direct contacts with their potential partners and discuss prospective directions of further business cooperation. This will contribute to continuation of joint efforts in promotion of women's economic empowerment, support and development of business relations both in bilateral and regional formats.

At the end of the event, it is expected to summarize the results of each thematic session and announce the cooperation agreements reached between women entrepreneurs of Central Asia.
