Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Strategic Reforms Agency has addressed public discussions circulating on social media regarding proposals for pension system reform.

The agency emphasized that claims about transferring the country’s pension system to the private sector are unfounded.

It clarified that the idea of involving the private sector in the pension system does not imply the elimination of the state-run Pension Fund.

At present, the proposal is purely advisory in nature and was put forward by international experts as part of broader discussions on possible directions for pension reform.

All suggestions are being thoroughly examined by the Strategic Reforms Agency in coordination with other responsible institutions.

When developing changes to the pension system, the agency plans to conduct a comprehensive analysis of international experience and will give due consideration to the views and interests of citizens.

The agency also stressed that any reforms will be aimed solely at enhancing the level of social protection for the population.
