Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree "On measures to create the Agency for Strategic Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan."

The decree established:

Agency for Strategic Development (Agency);

Agency Council chaired by the President;

Extra-budgetary fund to support the Agency for Strategic Development, without forming a legal entity under the Agency.

One of the main tasks of the Agency is to study strategic issues of attracting investments and implementing projects in the context of industries and regions, identifying promising industries and areas of investment activity.

The agency is headed by a general director who is appointed and dismissed by the President.

The agency is a state institution with the rights of a legal entity.

The Agency’s income is not subject to taxation.

Draft normative legal acts on issues within the scope of the Agency’s activities are subject to mandatory approval by the Agency.

State bodies and organizations, as well as diplomatic missions of the republic abroad, in the prescribed manner, at the request of the Agency, provide relevant information, including primary statistical data and access to databases.

The employees of the Agency retain allowances and surcharges, including for seniority, military and special ranks (class ranks, qualification classes, diplomatic ranks and others), assigned at the previous place of work, and employees with a higher legal education who do not have military and special ranks - class ranks provided for employees of bodies and institutions of justice can be assigned in the prescribed manner;

According to the decree, in order to quickly and efficiently solve the most pressing problems in the field of increasing investment activity, an accelerator of strategic initiatives (Accelerator) was created at the Agency.

The General Director of the Agency is the head of the Accelerator.
