Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Counterfeiting and putting money into circulation is considered one of the problems that threaten the country’s economic security. In turn, the bodies of the State Security Service are actively combating such threats.
In particular, within the framework of an operational event carried out by employees of the Office of the State Security Service for Navoi region, a vehicle of the Cobalt brand was stopped and examined in the presence of attesting witnesses, driven by a resident of Tashkent, born in 1996.
As a result, counterfeit banknotes with a face value of 100,000 soums for a total of 221 million 100 thousand soums were found in the trunk of the car and processed in a procedural manner.
The operational measure was continued, as a result, 5 of his criminal accomplices, residents of Navoi and Bukhara regions, were also detained, from whom counterfeit banknotes in the amount of 139 million 800 thousand soums were seized in the prescribed manner.
As a result of operational actions, the introduction of counterfeit money in the total amount of 360 million 900 thousand soums was stopped.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against these persons under the relevant article of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.
