State Security Service: laboratory tests of drugs "Doc-1 MAKS" and "Ambronol" were not carried out in the prescribed manner

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As previously reported, the Investigative Department of the State Security Service (SSS) of the Republic of Uzbekistan is currently conducting preliminary investigative actions in a criminal case initiated under paragraph "a" of part 4 of Article 1863 of the Criminal Code against the responsible persons of Quramax Medikal and Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines.

It should be noted that due to the side effects of drugs Doc-1 MAX and "Ambronol" produced in India, the death of sick children treated with a diagnosis of "acute renal failure" was registered.

These medicines imported by Quramax Medikal into our country passed laboratory tests at Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines LLC and certificates of conformity were issued for them.

In the course of preliminary investigative actions, it was established that the responsible employees of the Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicinal Products grossly violated the requirements of regulatory documentation when conducting laboratory studies of these medicinal products, as a result of which poor-quality drugs were allowed to be sold.

As part of the criminal case, 2 senior employees of Quramax Medikal and 2 responsible employees of the Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines were placed as suspects in the SSS Detention Facility in accordance with the established procedure.

Along with this, the customs control of drugs imported by Quramax Medikal from India to Uzbekistan has been suspended, and similar drugs have been withdrawn from the country’s pharmacies. Work in this direction continues.

The necessary measures have been taken to verify the compliance of the registration process in Uzbekistan with medicines owned by Quramax Medikal with the established procedure, as well as the actions of authorized employees of the healthcare system in this case.
