State Labor Inspectorate: in January 2022, more than 5,500 violations of the labor rights of citizens were revealed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The State Labor Inspectorate of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan is constantly working to ensure observance of guaranteed labor rights of citizens. In particular, in January 2022, 1,041 inspections were carried out, as a result of which 5,518 violations were identified. To eliminate the causes and conditions of these offenses, 872 written instructions were submitted and 26 petitions were filed, as a result of which the violated labor rights of citizens were restored.

In particular, special attention was paid to ensuring the timely payment of wages to employees of enterprises, institutions and organizations. Separate measures were taken in relation to enterprises that were found to have wage arrears. In January 2022, a total of 143 companies received written orders, and 15 companies received applications for the recovery of existing debt.

As a result of the measures taken in January 2022, 93 enterprises paid a total of 120.1 billion soums towards wage arrears. The labor rights of workers were restored. In addition, 283 lawsuits were filed with the court for the recovery of wage arrears in the amount of about 3 billion soums, administrative fines were imposed on 17 officials.

In order to increase the responsibility of employers, clarify the requirements of the law and further increase the legal knowledge of citizens throughout the country, with the support of the World Bank, 200 banners with helplines and the official website of the Ministry to address these issues were installed.
