Standard Chartered Aims to Deepen Engagement in Uzbekistan’s Priority Projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 12 June, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov held a meeting with a delegation led by Saif Malik, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank.
Standard Chartered is one of the world’s leading international investment banks, operating in over 60 countries. Its core areas of focus include financing transactions in the public sector, energy, infrastructure, and financial services.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Standard Chartered. Particular attention was given to enhancing the efficiency of the bank’s ongoing projects in both the public and corporate sectors of the country.
It was noted that Standard Chartered plays an active role in facilitating Uzbekistan’s integration into international financial markets, attracting foreign investment, and supporting major infrastructure initiatives.
As a result of the meeting, both sides agreed to deepen their existing partnership and jointly implement forward-looking projects. Representatives of the bank expressed readiness to expand their presence in the Uzbek market and to continue financing the country’s key economic sectors.
