Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 24 to 28 January this year, a delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited a number of ministries and organizations of the Kingdom of Spain as part of the ASK (Agriculture Support and Knowledge) project of the European Union. The trip took place with the aim of studying foreign experience and introducing digital technologies in the field of agricultural and food statistics.
During the visit, meetings were held with the leadership and specialists of such departments as: the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Institute of National Statistics, the Institute of Agriculture and Economic Research and Development of Murcia, the Department of Agriculture of Catalonia and a number of other organizations and enterprises with extensive experience in this area.
In addition, representatives of the Ministry studied information systems and opportunities for establishing a full cycle of agricultural production, as well as conditions for the formation of transparent statistics and their provision to all departments and agricultural producers.
With the participation of specialists, lectures, demonstrations and practical exercises were held on the issues of creating an open database, maintaining and using data on land plots in geographic information systems, encouraging the use of digital systems, methods for conducting surveys, coordinating the work of the parties in the implementation of long-term projects and determining priority areas.
