Special shoes for diabetic feet have been developed in Bukhara

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- One of the most common complications of diabetes is diabetic foot. This is not an independent disease, but a complex of symptoms that indicate a change in the anatomy and functionality of the foot. Of course, shoes do not heal, but they can significantly improve the quality of life of people with diabetes. Indeed, any microtrauma, skin damage, calluses and even simple diaper rash can become a big problem for a diabetic. Injuries to the legs often provoke the development of ulcers and lead to serious consequences.

Researcher of the Bukhara Engineering and Technology Institute Madinabonu Mukhamedova presented an improved design of preventive footwear for diabetic feet. It has the property of preventing deformation of the foot, and a special insole made of EVA material prevents the appearance and growth of bacteria. Also, such an insole allows you to evenly distribute pressure on the plantar surface of the foot due to the fact that it is covered with rhombic elements of different density. And the construction of the shoe upper creates additional convenience when putting on and taking off a pair.

When using prophylactic shoes in diabetic patients, the risk of foot disease is reduced by 45%. Timely and regular wear will help prevent serious consequences of the disease.

It should be noted that the Collegium of the Ministry of Innovative Development with the participation of the Uzcharmsanoat Association decided to finance Madina’s startup project "Development of effective technology and design of preventive footwear for patients with diabetes." The cost of the project is 313.2 million soums. Within its framework, it is planned to launch the LLC "Shoes and healthy feet" enterprise in the city of Bukhara and Romitan district.

Diabetic foot syndrome is a collective concept that unites a group of late complications of diabetes mellitus, in which pathological changes in the patient’s feet develop in the form of purulent-necrotic processes, ulcers and osteoarticular lesions, arising against the background of specific changes in peripheral nerves, blood vessels, skin and soft tissues, bones and joints.
