Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 September, at the initiative of the Pakistani side, virtual talks of the Special Representatives of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Iran and China for Afghanistan (“Group-6”) were held.

According to Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the parties noted the importance of consolidating regional efforts for a peaceful settlement of the Afghan crisis, the creation of an inclusive government in the country based on broad representation, ensuring human rights, including women and national minorities.

Attention was paid to the importance of fulfilling the obligations by the Taliban to prevent the activities of international terrorist organizations in Afghanistan and any threats from the territory of this country to neighboring states.

Views were exchanged on the priority areas for providing Afghanistan with all possible assistance, in particular, humanitarian assistance during the pandemic and preventing a food crisis.
