Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 24 August 2021, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain to Uzbekistan Tim Torlot, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.

A thorough exchange of views took place on the current situation in Afghanistan, on the efforts of the international community in the issue of a peaceful settlement of the Afghan crisis.

The parties also discussed the priority areas of the Uzbek-British interaction in the Afghan direction.

The British Ambassador expressed his sincere gratitude to the leadership of Uzbekistan for active assistance in the evacuation of diplomatic missions in Afghanistan, as well as local Afghan personnel, in transit through the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
