Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 22 October 2021, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held talks in Berlin with the Special Representative of Germany for Afghanistan Jasper Wieck.

During the conversation, they discussed the efforts of Uzbekistan and Germany to peacefully resolve the Afghan crisis, as well as to provide the country with humanitarian aid as soon as possible.

The German side highly appreciated the assistance of Uzbekistan in the evacuation of German citizens from Afghanistan and expressed its readiness to actively cooperate with our country in establishing peace and stability in this country.

The parties also exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan, the development of a consolidated position of the international community, both in relation to the new authorities of the country, and the prevention of a humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.

The sides expressed mutual interest in continuing bilateral consultations on the Afghan issue.
