Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Meets with the Ambassador of Qatar

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 6 February, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Uzbekistan, Hasan bin Hamza Hashim.

The parties discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation, including prospective projects in the trade and economic, transport and logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres, taking into account the situation in Afghanistan.

The Qatari side highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s contribution to the organization of a dedicated session on Afghanistan within the framework of the annual Doha Forum held in December 2025.

Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and strengthen bilateral ties within the Afghan track, emphasizing their shared interest in regional stability and development.
