Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 August 2021, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy Agostino Pinna.

A thorough exchange of views took place on the current situation in Afghanistan and the efforts of the international community, as well as the two countries to expand cooperation in the Afghan direction.

The Italian Ambassador highlighted the significant role of Uzbekistan in establishing long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan.

The Italian diplomat stressed the importance of creating an inclusive government in Afghanistan, with an emphasis on ensuring human rights, including for women and ethnic minorities.
