Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation led by the Special Representative of the Government of the People’s Republic of China for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit.
During the visit, a symposium on bilateral cooperation and exchange of experience in public administration was held today in Tashkent, Dunyo news agency reported.
The conference was attended by senior officials of the Chinese Embassy in Tashkent, the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Development Strategy Center, the International Institute for Central Asia, the SCO Public Diplomacy Center and the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers.
The head of the delegation spoke about the current state of relations between Uzbekistan and China, in particular, the great positive changes taking place in both countries in recent years. He also touched upon China’s foreign policy, relations with Central Asia, especially with Uzbekistan.
“I am aware of the renovations in Uzbekistan, the great creative work, the construction of many beautiful, sky-high buildings in this country”, said Mr. Li Hui. – This is a clear indication of the open, constructive and effective policy pursued under the leadership of the President, as well as the rapid growth of the country’s economy. As representatives of the most important strategic partner state, we are very pleased with the achievements of your country and firmly believe that our cooperation and joint efforts will continue.
The Special Representative of the Government of the People’s Republic of China for Eurasian Affairs drew the attention of experts to several important issues during his report. The parties exchanged views on relations and practical partnership between Uzbekistan and China in various fields, public administration, including the results of the 6th Plenum of the 19th Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, China’s policy in Central Asia and China-Central Asia cooperation, regional and international agenda, and on the situation in Afghanistan.
During the event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and China, the parties put forward specific ideas and proposals aimed at further developing cooperation between the two countries.
