Speaker of Turkish Parliament Highlights Strengthening Cooperation with Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 3 December 2025, a Turkish delegation led by the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş, visited Uzbekistan.

During the visit, a graduation ceremony was held for students of the Faculty of Medicine of Türkiye and the “Higher Nursing” program at Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali Ibn Sina.

At the event, it was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye has significantly strengthened in recent years, including inter-parliamentary relations, joint educational programs, and academic exchanges.

Particular attention was given to the introduction of innovative methods in higher education and the implementation of advanced programs in medicine and scientific research.

Speaker Kurtulmuş highly praised the reforms carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and emphasized that the strategic partnership between the two countries is developing across all areas based on trust and fraternal relations.

He highlighted the importance of the knowledge and experience gained by students for future joint educational and scientific initiatives and expressed confidence that the graduates will become some of the world’s leading specialists.

After the ceremony, diplomas were awarded to the graduates, followed by a meeting between the Speaker of the Oliy Majlis, Nuriddin Ismoilov, and the Turkish delegation, during which prospects for expanding parliamentary cooperation were discussed.

Members of the delegation also toured Bukhara’s historical and architectural sites, including the Lyabi Khauz ensemble and the complexes of Bahauddin Naqshbandi and Chor Bakr.
