Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- These days, a parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Nuriddinjon Ismoilov is in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

On 16 May, within the framework of an official visit to Baku, the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddinjon Ismoilov met with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

It was noted that our countries are connected not only by cooperation, but also by common history, language and culture, friendly fraternal relations.

At the meeting, the dynamics of the development of bilateral multifaceted relations, including inter-parliamentary ones, was highly appreciated, it was emphasized that there are great opportunities for increasing the level of trade between the two countries.

The parties noted the prospects for bilateral cooperation in transport, investment and other areas, building up cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG).

Speaker of the lower house of parliament Nuriddinjon Ismoilov, during the meeting, presented the President of Azerbaijan Ilhom Aliyev with a congratulatory letter from the President of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev on the occasion of 28 May - Independence Day of Azerbaijan.

Issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting, which was held in a constructive spirit.
